2. (on, upon) a se lăsa jos, a coborî (din zbor pe), a se aşeza (pe), a poposi (pe).

3. (av.) a ateriza;

to alight on the sea a ameriza.

4. (rar) to alight on a da de / peste, a întâlni (întâmplător).
