a man of no common abilities un om cu calităţi neobişnuite / deosebite / ieşite din comun;
the common run of people oamenii obişnuiţi, de rând.
4. (despre haine, îmbrăcăminte) obişnuit, ordinar, de rând.
5. răspândit, întrebuinţat de toţi;
it is common knowledge e îndeobşte cunoscut; după cum se ştie (prea bine).
6. ordinar, vulgar, banal;
common manners maniere, obiceiuri ordinare, vulgare, grosolane.
7. (bot. zool. tehn. etc.) comun; de ex.:
