2. (despre mare, vânt) a mugi, a se zbuciuma, a se agita, a urla.

3. to rave after / for a iubi nebuneşte (pe cineva), a iubi la nebunie (pe cineva), a se da în vânt după;

to rave against / at a blestema (cu ac.), a afurisi (cu ac).

to rave oneself hoarse a vorbi până răguşeşte.

(amer.) a aduce laude excesive (cuiva).

rave II. substantiv

(amer.) anunţ publicitar ce laudă calităţile unei mărfi, articol extrem de laudativ la adresa unei persoane.
