3. a satisface, a mulţumi (pe cineva), a da motiv de satisfacţie (cuiva);
to satisfy the examiners (despre şcolari) a fi primit cu menţiunea „suficient“ sau „admis“.
4. a satisface, a potoli (o dorinţă, foamea, curiozitatea etc.);
to satisfy smb’s expectation a corespunde aşteptărilor cuiva.
5. a convinge, a asigura; a clarifica (o nedumerire), a elucida;
to satisfy smb. of smth. a convinge pe cineva de un lucru;
to satisfy smb. that a convinge pe cineva că;
are you satisfied that it is true? eşti sigur că e adevărat?;
