2. lucru (care trebuie executat, indiferent dacă e impus sau voluntar); sarcină, datorie; lucru, lucrare, muncă, treabă;
to set smb. a task a da / a impune cuiva un lucru / o muncă (de executat);
to apply oneself to a task a-şi da silinţa să facă un lucru / o muncă;
an irksome task o muncă grea / obositoare, o corvoadă.
3. to take a person to task (for smth.) a cere cuiva socoteală (pentru ceva); a dojeni, a mustra, a certa, a muştrului pe cineva.
task II. verb tranzitiv
1. a da de lucru (cuiva), a pune la lucru; a impune un lucru / o muncă (cuiva); a desemna / a fixa o muncă / sarcină (cuiva).
2. (rar) a pune la încercare (mintea, memoria, puterile fizice etc.);
to task smb.'s memory a pune la încercare memoria cuiva.
3. (mar.) a pune la încercare / probă (lemnăria, scheletul, căptuşeala la unui vas).
